What is it?
Your lexile is a score determined by your performance on the Scholastic Reading Inventory test. (SRI) Your goal is always to do your best on the test, for this will determine the best books for you!
Why do we use it?
We use lexile to help you grow in your reading! Do you want to read Clifford Books? Ready Freddy Books? Magic Tree House books? Greek Mythology books? All these books are different lexile levels and will help you know if they are good fit books for you!
Why is it important to me?
That is up to you. Do you want to become a better reader?
Where can I find the lexile of my book?
At Creekmoor, you can locate the lexile level of your book in two different ways. You may use Destiny, our OPAC, or you may look at the small white sticker located on the inside cover of the book. If you need help locating the lexile level of a book that is not from our library, check out www.lexile.com!
How do I know MY lexile level?
You might have seen your SRI score from the test you took in the computer lab. If you did not, ask your teacher librarian :)
How do I know MY lexile range?
It is as easy as climbing a ladder! You can climb up 100 points higher than your actual score. You can also climb down 100 points below your actual score. From the bottom number to the top number is your range.
Example - My actual score - 304 My lexile range - 204-404
